SHOOTING CLASSES

All firearms instruction is conducted by NRA-certified and/or State of Tennessee Department of Safety-Certified firearms instructors. A NRA-certified Range Safety Officer will be on duty during all hours of range operation. Safety will exercised at all times.

INTRODUCTION to COWBOY SHOOTING (2 hours)
Single action pistol, lever-action rifle and double bbl shotgun. This course introduces the student to the exciting sport of Cowboy Action Shooting. Students become familiar with the basic concept, principles, and range practices according to the national rules/guidelines of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) Firearms and 100 rounds of ammunition (either .38 or .44 caliber) will be provided by the ranch. COST= $75.00 per person.

NRA First Steps (4 hours) pistol, rifle, or shotgun
This course is an introductory firearms safety course. Students will be provided firearms if they do not provide their own. Students will be responsible for providing 100 rounds of factory ammunition. The ranch will provide suitable targets and NRA training materials. COST= $35.00 per person. Group rate available.

Basic NRA Pistol Course (10 hours)
This course includes all of the training in the First Steps program, plus teaches students important essential skills for consistently accurate shot placement. Students will be provided firearms if they do not provide their own. Students will be responsible for providing a minimum of 100 rounds of factory ammunition. Opportunity will available to shoot more if the student wishes to bring more ammunition. (Practice is a good thing!) The ranch will provide suitable targets and NRA training materials. COST= $100.00 per person. Group rate available.

State of Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Class (8 hours)
This is the approved course by the State of Tennessee which is required for persons to carry a pistol on their person in this state. Although not, technically speaking, a “concealed carry” permit, the Department of Safety strongly encourages persons who DO carry, to carry their weapons concealed. This basic course offers the same basic safety information approved by the NRA. In addition, techniques of pistol carry and concealment, plus a discussion of holster types, will give the student added confidence and guidance in purchasing their equipment or making safe and effective use of the equipment they already own. COST= $75.00 per person.

Advanced Tactical Pistol Class (16 hours)
This course begins where the basic courses end. This course introduces the student to a variety of techniques of pistol carry and concealment, shooting under pressure, shoot/don't shoot scenarios, clearing a malfunction, engaging multiple targets, combat reloading, safe movement utilizing cover/concealment, techniques useful for clearing a home or other structure. Also covered is a more in-depth treatment of the laws of this state with respect to use of deadly force. These more advanced exercizes will give the student more experience, and added confidence if they must resort to deadly force. COST= $165.00 per person.

Firearms classes are usually taught on the weekends, year –around, weather-permitting. Other classes may be offered as needed. Call for more details.
