WELCOME TO THE J-BAR-M
WESTERN GUEST RANCH
AND HORSE CAMP

HARRIMAN, TENNESSEE

Mission of the J-Bar-M Guest Ranch

RIDIN', ROPIN' AN' SHOOTIN'

The J-Bar-M Ranch was created to train people of all ages in basic horsemanship, and marksmanship skills, in spirit and atmosphere of the "Old West". It is a "working horse ranch" (we do not have cattle) so our daily activities include horse care and training. By combining cowboy work, living history and old-fashioned recreation, the ranch provides a healthy, safe environment in which guests and students may observe old-fashioned values and work ethic in all day-to-day ranch activities. We also actively promote the fast-growing sport of "Cowboy Action Shooting" by providing clinics and workshops for both beginners and experienced Cowboy Action Shooters.

The Owners of The J-Bar-M Ranch are Christian, conservative, and old-fashioned. We never miss an opportunity to witness about our faith, our share our values with others. For a more detailed look at what that means, see Cowboy Church at The Ranch

During the Summer months (June, July, and August) we open the ranch for horsemanship training to folks of all ages. Some weeks are reserved for children only, and some weeks are reserved for adults only. Horse classes always include Bible study and application of Christian life-principles woven into the lessons. Weekends are usually reserved for wilderness camps, firearms and archery training, and other outdoor activities. When no classes are being held, people of all ages drop in to help with the work and enjoy Christian fellowship with like-minded folks. Supper is often cooked over an open fire, and usually includes some guitar and harmonica music, and stories of the Old West. WHEN the Hotel and the Guest Cabins are completed, we will offer overnight accomodations and bed 'n' Breakfast packages, so stay tuned for further developments!

Dressed in authentic clothing styled from the 1880'as, and sometimes armed with rifles and pistols of that era, the cowboys and cowgirls who help at the ranch are usually outfitted in authentic period costume during daily activities. The people who assist with ranch activities are usually part-time, volunteer folks who help us on special occasions because they have a passion for the cowboy lifestyle and the spirit of the old West. They LIVE the "Cowboy Code".
Its all in the spirit of good, clean, safe, fun---the COWBOY WAY!
